Hey Sherri. Sorry it has been a while since I've talked to you. We wanted to thank you for Brutus' stocking, the kids loved it! Now to give you an update for I'm sure your curious! He went for his 12 week visit Friday and is doing great. Our vet continues to be impressed with him, he is amazed at how good his coat looks and his overall appearence, he said he is a very handsome dog. He says he is the picture of health and described Brutus in his notes as sound in all areas, alert and friendly with a sweet disposion, and very large! Brutus wieghed in at 23.8 lbs. He has lost his puppy belly and has that somewhat lanky hound look to him. Though lanky is not the best word to use, he is very thick and solid in the shoulders and legs with HUGE paws! I do miss the puppy pudge though. Our vet said his wieght gain and growth are perfect, and that we will have a very large dog on our hands which makes me happy. Brutus is very smart and learns fast. He has done extremely well on the leash, and is starting to get a good handle on heel. Our walks are getting longer as he gets more confident walking farther away from the house. He will sit, stay, lay down, and roll over. I had forgotten how stubborn they can be as pups, he likes to pick and choose his times to push his limits but always gives in willingly, it is always funny! Morgan does very well with him, he listens to every word she says, and she has jumped right in on the resposibility side of having a pup. Wyatt and Brutus are cuddle buds, they are usually found in a pile on the floor sleeping. Brutus responds very well to a firm "no" and when being stubborn a simple touch on the neck and some redirection gets the job done. He is eager to please and will do just about anything for a treat or an emphatic "good boy!" He continues to love his kennel and we have had no issues with him at home when we are at work...I mean none! He is usually sound asleep in his bed when I get home and always happy to see me. He loves to visit with us, has never met a stranger and is very sweet. He takes correction well from others and of course loves kids. He has been intriduced to all kinds of animals. He socializes well and has shown no signs of aggression twords anyone or anything, pretty much takes it all in stride. He loves to run the fence at my dads with the horse and ponies, i'm pretty sure he thinks they are really big dogs. He like to visit the four goats and get them riled up and has not once chased the chickens around the yard. Morgan has a bunny at dads and Brutus is very gentle around it, I sometimes wonder if he has a prey drive at all! Brutus is well on his way to being the well rounded American Bulldog I hoped he would be. I have to thank you again for all your hard work. Be sure to tell Darrick I understand why he was taken by Brutus, I enjoy our time chilling out with him in my lap, he is happy to be anywhere I am and just has a good "feel" about him when the two of us are hanging out. I wondered if I would ever have another dog I bonded with like Sadie, I know now that even though I could never replace Sadie, I don't have to.
Thanks, Chad |

Colt is a wonderful boy and has defiantly stole my heart as well! Just thought I would give you an update on Colt. He is growing fast, and is quite the healthy young boy! I took him to the vet and he is very healthy, and looks great. He has been doing very well in the potty training process, and goes to the door almost all the time. I think I told you before that I hung a bell from a string, and attached it to the door knob. When he wants to go out he just walks on over and hits the bell with his nose. Very smart! I have been taking him on walks around the house just to get him used to being on leash and he is doing very well with it. I haven’t taken him on a long walk yet, because I want to be careful about parvo, but he seems to do well just around the house. He sits very well, and we are still working on lay down and stay, but he improves everyday. He follows me everywhere I go and is so interested in what I am doing, it’s so cute; although he likes to get underneath my feet sometimes when I'm walking, lol. I can already tell he is going to be the most loyal dog in the world, I love him to death! I thought you would enjoy hearing that Colt is well and loving life! Thank you again for everything Sherri; he has been such a wonderful gift!

Benny is honestly the best puppy I have ever been around, he is soooo calm and very very loveable and has yet to have an accident in his cage!! You did a great job bringing them up, I think having them in your home and keeping them in crates at such a young age really makes a difference!!!!

Phoebe is doing well overall. She slept the whole way home. Initially she was somewhat reserved but now she's made the place her home. Already she's become a lap dog and I keep thinking I'm going to regret this about 50 or 60 pounds. She's really laid back and our son loves her to pieces. She's doin well with the 'sit' command and we'll start loose lease training this week. We all think she's just a dollbaby and love her to bits. Thank you so much.
