Nova is our little beauty.  She weighs in between 95 lbs and 100 lbs and is a sight to behold.  We had admired at her as a puppy and although she tugged at my heartstrings, the timing wasn't right for us to bring another dog into our home.  Last summer, we studded Glacier and were in the process of choosing our pick when I laid eyes on her again.  It was love at second sight and I knew she was meant to be with us.  It was somewhat of a barter, but my heart was set on her and I didn't stop until she was coming home.

At 2-1/2 years old, she's a power-packed dynamo.  She loves going for walks, although she tends to be more under your feet than by your side (thus the name Hopscotch).  She's excellent with male dogs and is quickly adapting to being around children and new people, although she's not sure what to think about the neighbor's Min-Pin.  I've been thrilled at the progress she has made in the short time we have had her.  I've been constantly amazed by her resounding good nature and her playfulness that has survived.  Although never socialized, she is accepting new situations amazingly well.

Nova is our baby; however, I have come to realize that our home is not the best situation for her.  She doesn't get along with our other females, which means that they all spend more time in their kennels than I would like.  For Nova to reach her full potential she needs a family that can provide her with a fun filled and stable environment.  The perfect home for her would be a family without young children or small pets or a single person.  She does amazingly well with male dogs, but they have to have a stable temperament.  She can be a little of a bully and the male should be able to stand up for himself without starting a fight.  She wasn't sure how to act when we first brought her home and she looked to the other dogs to show her the way.  Her confidence has grown and she's become comfortable with just being a dog.  Nova needs a family to dote on her.  She has been spayed and is up to date on all of her vaccinations.  She is a true black jacketed American Bulldog, registered with NKC.
